Most marriages don't fall apart. They drift along, fine, while the best of it quietly slips through.

Nobody warns you. The kids, the work, the years, and one day you're two different people who never decided to be. Almost all of what slips through is avoidable. It just needs someone to say it out loud, and a place to start.

What you'll get

Marriage, as it's actually lived.

Not a course. Not a framework. Letters from two people twenty-three years in, and over time from other couples on this list, about what building a marriage really looks like.

Something to try. A question to ask at dinner. A habit worth keeping on Sunday mornings. A way into the money conversation that doesn't start a fight. Small, specific, and doable this week.

What actually happened. Stories from our kitchen table and, over time, from other marriages on this list. The parts people don't usually say out loud, told the way they really went.

The hard conversations. Money. Sex. The kids leaving. The person you married who isn't quite here anymore. Written with care, and without flinching.

This is new, and we're still finding our voice. Some letters will be one long story. Some will be a single idea and a question for the two of you. We'd rather send you something true than something formatted.

Who it's for

Written for the two of you. Not for everyone.

This is for you if

  • Your marriage is fine, and you'd like it to be more than fine.
  • You've read the marriage books and wanted less theory and more to do.
  • You're the one who cares about this more right now. One of you usually is, and this is written for you.

Probably not for you if

  • You're looking for help with a marriage in crisis. Talk to a counselor first. We'll be here after.
  • You want a daily drip. It's every other week, on purpose, so there's time to actually try the thing.

Best if it names the letter or the practice. 'We tried the Tuesday question and…' beats 'great newsletter.'

One from the spouse who didn't sign up would say more than three from the one who did.

Who's writing

Two people, not a content team.

We're Clark and Carrie Sell. Married 23 years, two kids nearly out the door, fifteen years of running THAT Conference behind us. Not therapists. Two people who had to work this out at a kitchen table, and who are building Troth because we wanted a better place to keep what we worked out.

The letter is where we say the true things out loud. What we're trying, what's working, what isn't, and what other couples on this list are learning too. Reply to any of them. We read every one.

— Clark and Carrie

The questions people ask.

How often will you email me?
One letter every other week. If you also join the waitlist, you'll hear from us about Troth as it takes shape, a handful of times a year.
Can my spouse get it too?
Send them this page, or forward the letter. Some couples read it together on a Sunday; some read it separately and compare notes. Either works.
What's the waitlist checkbox?
Troth is the app we're building: a private, encrypted home for your marriage, coming to iPhone in 2026. Ticking the box puts the two of you in line for early access. Untick it and you'll only get the letter.
What do you do with my email?
Send you the letter. It's free, we never share or sell your address, and every letter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom.
